Water leaks, spills, and floods are very common. Immediate inspection by certified technicians of floor coverings, structural materials and crawl spaces as well as prompt removal of all standing water is critical to reduce or eliminate costly structural damage and/or mold growth. Insurers REQUIRE that home and business owners mitigate damages as soon as possible. Additionally, most insurance companies have reduced their coverage for mold removal.

Since every minute counts, Property Physicians is ready to respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No matter when a flood occurs, we will be there to bail you out.

Once all standing water is removed the structure must be thoroughly dried to prevent moisture damage and/or mold growth.

Homeowners sometimes remove standing water, but they neglect to have the area professionally dried because the surface looks or feels “dry to the touch.” Many think the problem is only the surface water. The walls, flooring and crawl spaces also absorb the water. It is critical to dry these areas correctly before further damages occur. Without the proper equipment, it is impossible to determine how much moisture is still within the structure or to draw that moisture out before it cultivates mold of causes other structural damage. Increased moisture in the air after an indoor flood can lead to “secondary” damage to decorative wood, books, artwork and other items, therefore thorough drying and dehumidification is essential.

Property Physicians uses the newest and most improved structural drying techniques. Through the use of the “IN PLACE STRUCTURAL DRYING” method and state-of-the-art drying equipment and procedures it is no longer necessary to remove the carpet pad on a clean water loss. This affords a homeowner more comfort while living in their home during a water disaster. The old method of “floating the carpet”, which releases a lot of dust particles and often requires the removal of all furniture from the room, is unnecessary.
